Artists from SIP-based Suzhou Ballet Theatre (SBT) recently visited Suzhou Art & Design Technology Institute in Suzhou’s Wuzhong District, where they staged a ballet concert for the school’s students and faculty members. It is learnt that SBT has toured to a number of schools in Suzhou since early this year under the “Ballet in Suzhou” public art education program designed to spread the art of ballet.
In fact, SBT has been devoted to public art education for many years. Last year, it launched the “Ballet Masters’ Lectures” and “Ballet in Suzhou” programs to offer lectures on ballet, performances and learning opportunities to the public. Statistics show that it has organized 280 public-benefit events so far, benefiting 85,000 audiences.
It is worth mentioning that, early this year, SBT joined the “SIP Night” program to help boost nighttime consumption in SIP, and so far has staged a long list of public-benefit performances across SIP. Meanwhile, it has offered online lectures and performances to bring the art of ballet close to the masses.
